1 Preparation

Beat the Ender Dragon (opens End gateways)
Bring 16+ ender pearls For throwing into gateways and recovering from falls into the void… well, not the void. Falls onto islands.
Pack: good armor, sword, bow, food, 3+ stacks of blocks, water bucket Water works in the End (unlike the Nether), so MLG bucket saves are on the table.
Brew Slow Falling potions (highly recommended)

2 Reaching End Cities

Throw an ender pearl into the gateway portal above the fountain The small floating bedrock portal that appears after the dragon dies teleports you ~1000 blocks to the outer islands.
Explore the outer islands until you find an End City Purpur towers are visible from far away. Bridge between islands or pearl across gaps.
Find a city WITH an End Ship Only ships hold elytra. Not every city has one — keep hunting if yours doesn't.

3 The Raid

Fight shulkers carefully Their projectiles inflict Levitation. Shield-block them, or use the float to reach higher floors — just place blocks above your head so you don't drift too far.
Take the elytra from the item frame in the ship
Grab the dragon head from the ship's bow
Farm 8+ shulker shells 2 shells + 1 chest = 1 shulker box. Shulkers can spawn new shulkers when hit by shulker bullets, so they're renewable.
Loot the city chests (enchanted diamond gear is common)

4 Back Home

Craft firework rockets (paper + gunpowder) Rockets are elytra fuel. A creeper/gunpowder farm pays for itself fast.
Get Mending on your elytra Elytra durability is precious. Mending + an XP farm = infinite flight.
Craft your first shulker boxes and never inventory-panic again
