🐲 Beat the Game

The full road from punching your first tree to slaying the Ender Dragon. Follow along step by step — nothing assumed, nothing skipped.

1 Getting Started

Punch trees and collect 16+ logs Any wood type works. Convert most into planks, keep a few logs for charcoal later.
Craft a crafting table and wooden pickaxe
Mine stone and upgrade to full stone tools Pickaxe, axe, sword, shovel. Stone tools are cheap — don't be precious with them.
Build or dig a shelter before nightfall A hole in a hillside with a door is fine. Do not dig straight down.
Get a food supply going Kill animals, gather sweet berries, or harvest village crops. Cook meat in a furnace for more saturation.
Craft a furnace and smelt charcoal for torches
Craft a bed from 3 wool + 3 planks Sheep drop wool — you need 3 of the same color. Sleeping skips night and sets your respawn.

2 Iron Age

Mine 20+ iron ore Iron is most common around Y=15 and in mountains at high Y. Caves are the fastest way to find it.
Smelt iron and craft an iron pickaxe and sword
Craft a shield 1 iron ingot + 6 planks. Blocks skeleton arrows and creeper blasts — a lifesaver.
Craft full iron armor (24 ingots)
Craft a water bucket Used for safe descents, blocking lava, and making obsidian. Arguably the best item in the game.
Optional: craft shears and flint & steel

3 Diamonds & Enchanting Prep

Mine at Y=-58 and find 5+ diamonds Diamonds spawn below Y=16 and are most common near bedrock. Branch mine at Y=-58 or explore deep caves. Watch for lava!
Craft a diamond pickaxe Required to mine obsidian for the Nether portal.
Mine 10 obsidian (or cast a portal with lava + water) You only need 10 blocks for a minimal portal frame (corners can be skipped).
Gather a few gold ingots Useful for golden carrots later; a spare set of gold boots can help with Piglins (any gold armor piece stops them attacking).

4 Into the Nether

Build and light a Nether portal Minimum 4×5 frame. Light the inside with flint & steel.
Find a Nether Fortress Fortresses generate in strips running north–south. Explore along the X axis to cross them.
Kill Blazes and collect 7+ Blaze Rods Found at fortress spawners. Bring a shield; blaze fireballs hurt. 7 rods = safety margin for eyes + brewing.
Collect 12+ Ender Pearls Barter gold ingots with Piglins (wear gold!), or hunt Endermen in warped forests where they're everywhere.
Return home and craft 12+ Eyes of Ender 1 blaze powder + 1 ender pearl each. Extra eyes cover throws that break in transit.

5 Gear Up

Build an enchanting table + 15 bookshelves Table: 4 obsidian, 2 diamonds, 1 book. 15 bookshelves around it unlock level-30 enchants.
Enchant your armor, sword, and bow Priority: Protection on armor, Sharpness on sword, Power on bow. Feather Falling on boots is huge for the End.
Stock up on strong food (golden carrots or steak)
Optional: brew Slow Falling and Healing potions Slow Falling trivializes the dragon fight if you get launched. Brewing stand needs 1 blaze rod + 3 cobblestone.
Pack: blocks (2 stacks), bow + 2 stacks arrows, pickaxe, water bucket, slots for loot

6 Finding the Stronghold

Throw an Eye of Ender and follow its direction Walk a few hundred blocks, throw again. Where two throws converge is the stronghold. Eyes break ~20% of the time.
Dig down and find the stronghold When the eye dives into the ground, dig a staircase (never straight down) and explore until you hit stone brick.
Locate the End portal room Look for the room with a silverfish spawner and lava pool. Break the spawner!
Fill all 12 portal frames with Eyes of Ender Some frames generate pre-filled. Set your spawn nearby and stash valuables in a chest before jumping in.

7 The End Fight

Destroy the End Crystals you can reach with bow shots Crystals heal the dragon. Shoot the exposed ones on shorter towers first.
Climb or tower up to destroy caged crystals Pillar up with blocks. Watch out — the dragon can knock you off. This is where Slow Falling saves runs.
Damage the dragon when it perches on the fountain Slash its head with your sword — head hits do double damage. Avoid the breath attack clouds.
Bow the dragon while it circles Aim at the body. Crossbow/bow with Power II+ chews through its 200 HP.
Slay the Ender Dragon 🎉 Collect the XP (~68 levels worth!) and take the Dragon Egg with a piston or torch trick if you want the trophy.
Enter the exit portal and roll credits You beat Minecraft! Next up: elytra, shulkers, and everything post-game.
