A compact, simplified observer-piston sugar cane row. When cane grows to its third block, an observer fires the piston below it, the broken cane drops into a water stream and floats into a hopper and chest. Fully automatic — no redstone dust needed.

💡 Tips & usage

Observers must face the air block directly above the second cane block (the third block of growth); the piston below each observer breaks the cane.
The collection water flows toward the hopper end — place the water source at the far end of the front channel.
Sugar cane grows faster on dirt next to water; this design keeps every cane block hydrated.
